This play was written, directed, and staged by the writer Pankayamanalan at the request of the MIOTUK ( Medical Institute of Tamils, UK) for a festival event.
This humorous play centers on grandparents in the diaspora who, after a lifetime of hard work, are now responsible for raising their grandchildren. They see this new phase as a final, fulfilling chapter of their life’s experience.
The play touches on the inner anxieties of these grandparents, who had dreamed of spending their retirement with their spouses and friends, laughing and sharing stories, and now fear those dreams won’t come true. The play was staged a second time at the Winston Churchill Hall for the Children’s Hunger Relief Fund UK (CHRF UK) organization to a full audience.
