This is a collection of poems by Pankayamanalan that were written and published in stages in various London-based magazines, waves, stages, and journals.
The book includes poems that document the collective Tamil experience of being subjugated and ruled by a foreign power and the resulting continuous ethnic oppression. It also covers the sacrifices made by the Tamil people of the homeland to protect themselves from continuous massacres and prisons. The poems vividly portray the losses, injustices, pain, and suffering they endured.
The book also chronicles the psychological and social aspects of Tamil life as a displaced community. This collection was formally launched with great fanfare at the London Tamil Association’s stage, along with many other works by the author.
With the support of the London Tamil Association and the World Tamil Sangam in Madurai, a play based on the author’s work “Pirapanchaleelai” was staged in Madurai by the students of London’s Nadana KalalayaNattyam school.
Inspired by the poems, their emotional depth, and poetic substance, the Vellithoor Senthamizh Arakkattalai organization in Tamil Nadu awarded the writer the title of “Kavipperozhi” (The Great Light of Poetry) in March 2014
The eternal truth will not die,It
Will not be consumed by fire
It will remainEverlasting (perpetual)—it
Walks the path of justice (right).—
The path of righteousDharma/Virtue, it walks!
